Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TraderPrep (“TraderPrep”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use traderprep.org and our related services (the “Service”). TraderPrep is operated as a sole proprietorship based in New York, United States. If you have questions, contact us at support@traderprep.org.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and display name, and you choose a username (which you can set or change later). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile name from Google instead of collecting them directly — we never receive your Google password. If your account has a password, it is handled and stored in hashed form by our authentication provider (Supabase); we never see or store your plaintext password.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your payment card details directly — we do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited billing information such as your subscription plan, status, and payment history.
• Usage data. As you use the exercises we record activity such as which exercises you play, your scores and statistics, and the number of plays used against daily limits.
• Mock interview recordings and answers. If you use the mock interview exercise, nothing leaves your browser unless you choose to save a finished mock. When you do, we store the audio and any written answers you saved in Supabase Storage, so you can review your own submissions from your submissions page.
• AI feedback on mock interview answers. When you save a mock interview answer (or ask us to grade one later), we send your recorded audio, any typed answer, the interview question, and the official grading reference for that question to a third-party AI provider, which returns written feedback. If you would rather not send a recording to a third party, use Save without AI feedback on the finish screen: your answer is still saved to your account for your own review, and nothing is sent on. From your audio we also generate a text transcript, which we keep only as long as the audio itself — 30 days on Pro and 7 days on a free account — and delete on the same schedule (see Data retention below). The feedback itself is not on that clock: it persists until you delete the submission or your account, and because it can reference exactly what you said, it may quote your own words back to you.
• Analytics and device data. We use Google Analytics, which collects information such as your browser and device type, the pages you view, approximate location derived from your IP address, and similar diagnostic data through cookies and similar technologies.
• Local device storage. For visitors who are not signed in, we store a small counter in your browser’s local storage to enforce the free daily preview limit. This stays on your device and is not tied to your identity.
• Anonymous play statistics. For unregistered users, we record play statistics using a unique device identifier (stored locally, not tied to personal information) to compute aggregate score percentiles for benchmarking.

How we use information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
• To create and manage your account and authenticate you;
• To enforce free and paid usage limits and process subscriptions;
• To measure and improve the Service and understand how it is used;
• To send you account emails and occasional product updates about new features (you can unsubscribe from product updates at any time using the link in any of those emails);
• To respond to your requests and provide customer support;
• To protect the security and integrity of the Service and prevent abuse;
• To comply with our legal obligations.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, primarily through Google Analytics, to understand usage and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings and can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Service function.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their functions:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting;
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management;
• Google Analytics — usage analytics;
• A third-party AI provider — used only to generate written feedback on saved mock interview answers — see the mock interview section above;
• Resend — delivery of account and product-update emails;
• Render and Cloudflare — application hosting and content delivery.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TraderPrep, our users, or others. If TraderPrep is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Mock interview audio is kept for 30 days on Pro and 7 days on a free account after you submit it, and is then deleted automatically; the transcript generated from that audio is deleted on the same schedule, so it never outlives the recording it came from. Written answers from mock interviews are kept for as long as your account exists. AI feedback and your self-assessment, once saved, also persist until you delete the submission or your account — they are not on the audio clock. You can delete any individual submission, audio, transcript, and feedback all at once, at any time from your submissions page.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update most of your account information from your account page. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email support@traderprep.org.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (note that we do not sell personal information). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and rely on established providers such as Supabase and Stripe for authentication and payments. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

TraderPrep is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
