Naming a Number Before the Dice

Two traders play for a fixed pot. Trader A names an integer out loud; then trader B, having heard it, names a different integer. Two fair dice are rolled and whoever's number is closer to the sum takes the whole pot. What number should A name, and what is A's chance of winning against a B who plays optimally?
